Awesome job Matt! It's terrific how this site has grown in such a short time!
I have so many fun memories from our numerous bX meet up parties in cities all over the US. Victrola in Seattle, Murky Coffee D.C., Palms in Las Vegas, Bull Run Coffee in MN and many more.

I remember at the first bX meet up at Murky Coffee (thank you Nick Cho) a couple baristas came up to me and said "Thanks so much for having this party as we really would not have felt like we could get into an industry party as we are new baristas, but we feel right at home here thanks to Barista Exchange".

I knew right there that the site was a success, even for that one reason. Thanks guys.

Great job Matt, and to everyone here at BX.
Baristi Unite! Matt, Add MillRock/Modular Brand Group to the list of "Current Partners" time for us to step up and sponsor the Barista Exchange...we would be proud to support this community. Send my office the paperwork and we'll cut a check today.

I am always inspired by your genuine conviction to make our industry a better place for all of us. Thank you for bringing THE platform; larger than I ever imagined possible.
Congratulations!

Sincerely,
Shaun

Through barista exchange I found my current job with Midcity Caffe in Washington D.C.

I was working in Gainesville, FL at a group of hospital kiosks when I took a trip to DC to visit a friend. I chanced to meet with the then general manager of my current shop after reading her barista exchange job posting. I had no intent of taking the job but wanted a sense of the DC scene. We chatted, she gave me a list of other DC notables (Pergerine and Big Bear) and then when I moved to DC a month later she offered me a position.

Prior to that I'd never worked on a Marzocco or dealt with Counter Culture firsthand, with who I now have access to training and regular laboratories. I owe a lot to BX in providing me with a network of such infinite capacities.

Nice work.
I've found this site to be my go-to for anything Barista/Coffee Related. I first found out about Coffee Fest and latte art competitions on here. I've learned from the experiences posted by fellow Baristas, and It's also helped keep my passion for the Coffee Industry alive.

Thanks BX!
Barista Exchange has been a wonderful medium in which to meet other coffee fanatics, most of whom have the incredible blessing of being able to work in this industry we call "specialty" coffee. This is my dream job, and I have yet to see this dream realized. But I have committed myself to investing the time and spare dollars in learning all I can in preparation for the day I open my own shop.

The way the coffee community opens up and welcomes newcomers, willingly shares information and technique, and helps a novice develop standards about excellence in quality, procedures, and education is truly impressive. I have had the privilege of personally meeting so many great "movers and shakers" who work in coffee, and are members on this site, and look forward to personally meeting more in the future. Jason Dominy, Brady Butler, Brent Hall, Lem Butler, Chris Deferio, James Spano, Matt Milletto...I'm sure there are others...Thanks for the impact you have been.

This journey into specialty coffee isn't over. I'm looking forward to the next part of the journey.

I actually took interest in Barista Exchange long before I became a member.  I began enjoying coffee over the past few years but before that I was not a coffee drinker at all.  My newest employment landed me in the POS business and fortunately my new love for coffee came in handy as the product my company sells is geared for cafes.  I wanted to get to know more about the coffee industry and the people in it.  Reading on BX and speaking in coffee shops, I have really taken to the whole community and am very happy that my work is [somewhat] intertwined with the industry.

Thanks Matt for putting together such a great site!

Hey Matt   I love BX!   I've found awesome info on most of the big decisions i've had to make over the past couple months while trying to get the doors open to my shop.   I also like to just read old threads; being a newbie to the industry hearing about how other ppl have dealt with equiptment and service issue has really helped me to plan for opening day.      thanks for setting this thing up  - an ABC roasting class is on my to do list so hope to see you guys again soon!

Great job Matt, and to everyone here at BX. I read everthing that I can Have Learned alot and Thanks again Mat
