Gidday Daniel, how are things?? Christchurch...not really a city I know too much about from a coffee angle. I have heard a lot of good things about C4 (http://www.c4coffee.co.nz/) and about Lyttleton Coffee company http://www.lytteltoncoffee.co.nz/ (owned by James and Steophen- formely of 'Flatwhite' fame in London). The old standards such as Hummingbird are still around, but not sure how they are these days. Hope its a help...if all else fails you could also contact Carl Sara,. who is a member on BX. He, of all us kiwis in the great biz we call coffee, probably knows Christchurch's cafe scene best of all.
Cool, it suprises me a well that there are so may kiwis out there. I wont say we take credit for driving the specialty coffee business in places like London...but it is really encouraging to see (and hear) of the success stories.
Well Dan if your offering. I have this great idea. If you can bring back 1 coffee bean from 33 different coffee shops in DC, I'm working on my Washington DC espresso blend! Just have a good time and enjoy your time off. I think Allison Kole lives there.
See you when you get back.
