McDonalds is now promoting latte art on their new site ... but if you click on the images of the drinks, you will see a latte like one might expect from the fast food giant.

This is one of the most disturbing things I have ever seen on the screen of a computer . . .

I actually saw a McCafe in Minneapolis for the first time and just had to stop in. They are using steam pitchers that are about 64oz and Franke Super Autos, the same super autos that Caribou switched to about 4 years ago! Nedless to say I passed on ordering a latte (or anything else for that matter)
Yikes

I think the whole individual magic of each rosetta would be impossible to tie into a brand standard product. also the steam pressure on the superauto's is set too high to make good microfoam unless you're steaming about 750ml of milk.

I don't know, I've trained a few Starbucks baristas on latte art (one of my chairitable activities). They have difficulties, to say the least, especially on their Verismo 801 superautos. Word on the street is that the new Magestrenas being rolled out by 2010, aren't much better. The biggest problem, however, is the multitude of store managers who could care less about anything other than peak half-hour sales.

McDonald's never ceases to impress me with their coffee. Hell, at least they acknowledge latte art exists (unlike SBUX).
