With 592 members to this group, I really do hope that I get more feedback here than I did from my comment into the general discussion forums.

Sorry if you already read or responded to that one, this one is going to look awfully copied and pasted:

As we are looking at remodeling our packaging we are looking at different wholesale suppliers.

We stock 12oz, 2lb and 5lb bags.

Requirements for our packaging:

- Foil

-Side seal (not back)

-Gusseted Bags

-"Natural Kraft" for the finish.

We do not need quad seal or zip top.

If you know of or are a wholesale supplier that carries bags meeting these requirements we would love to hear about pricing.

Look up Pacific Bag out of, I believe, Bellevue Wa.  They pretty much have everything -- I've seen their samples of every different type you listed.  I ordered from them when I roasted in Vista, CA and used them (I wasn't in charge of ordering, to be honest) while I worked at Dillano's in Sumner up until 2009.

I work in San Diego now as of 2009.  I used them before our company closed down last October and now, virtually, the only 3rd wave coffee company in SD uses them, too.  I have years of wholesale experience under my belt and continue to this day.  If you have any further questions, let me know and I'll see what I can find out for you.

i also use pbi (pacificbag.com)

theyre pretty reasonable and have a good inventory.

Hi Bryan, I used to have a great relationship and success with http://www.packplus.com/ my sales rep was always very responsive and helpful.

Cheers,

Chase.

Hi Bry,

So you are taking over purchasing and acquisitions now? <];^)

Is our roasting group really at 592 now. Holy c batman.

Don't be too surprised by how few "educated and experienced responses you get"   I get most of my information from the Coffee Fests, I saw you up in Seattle.....What I can tell you about the bags I'm currently using won't take too long. We only currently use Flair valve bags and one other Kraft which I need to check our source on that one. The Kraft paper bag gets sealed just like the foil.

The Flair bag distributor is near your downtown location and they put the valve in when you place the order. We drive from here and pick up the bags since they are close but wayyyy closer to you.

Best Regards Bry,

Joseph,

Sasquatch Coffee Roasters

We use pacific bag as well, make sure you call in and talk to a rep you can get better pricing than they have on their website.

Seems as though everyone is using Pacific bag, and yet the pricing that I've seen (from our customer catalog) is about 9 cents more per bag than other wholesalers.

Also, when we asked for samples, the ones we received had the seam right across the back.  I don't want to have to pay for quad seal just to get the seam on the side.

Are these bags available and we just didn't get the right samples in?

I use StockBagDepot.com. FWIW. :-)

Thanks Stefan,

I need a database of suppliers like this too. Our company is looking for new suppliers too.
