Anyone taken apart and cleaned a Diedrich Afterburner/Oxidizer?
Does the stack have to be lifted up or does the coppery-bronze collar that comes out of the afterburner slide far enough up after the thermocouple and its holder are removed? Does anyone have photos they took during the process? The folks at Diedrich are really nice but their documentation is really vague.

Glad to hear you were able to lower the pressure. Gas burners of your type do not like to fire into a postive pressure environment, it lowers the firing rate. How old is your oxidizer?

I'm curious to know how this went for you. Our afterburner 'went down' mysteriously one day and the next 48 hours were hell in trying to find out exactly the cause. Because I was out of warranty Diedrich was little help. We did it - but it wasn't so pretty (basically took the whole thing apart). Now that it's after the fact I'm not exactly sure how I'd do it differently. Wish I had taken photos - great idea. Mine was not a cleaning issue...when we put it all back together after checking ever facet - it just started working again...and I started breathing.

What size Roaster do you have? Is it a Diedrich? Is your afterburner a thermal or catalytic? How old is the afterburner?
