About Me:
I enjoy spending time with my wife, riding my bike, writing music, eating good food, traveling, hiking, and meeting passionate people.
About My Company:
Backporch is a small, artisan coffee roaster located in the heart of Bend, Oregon's Westside community. We began in October of 2006 with a small cafe, a 12 kilo Deitrich Roaster, and a dream to bring the finest coffees to our friends and neighbors. We are coffee people, and we are not ashamed to be labeled as coffee nerds, or even a little crazy. We are obsessed with the dream of the perfect cup. The flavors, and textures bubbling around in our mouths, exciting our senses, and making us happy to get up each morning. That first cup in the morning, the fizzy excitement of citrus acidity, the relaxing contentment of perfect balance, and the lingering mouthfeel of a great finish. These are all the things that we love, and they make us truly love what we do. Coffee is more than a job for us, it is a life and a passion.

We pull our Backporch Blend, and the Icon Single Origin Espresso daily on our 3 group PID'd Marzocco Linea, and offer french pressed coffee instead of drip. We also have a great selection of local, artisan pastries. Open Mon-Sat from 6:30a-6p, and Sunday from 6:30a-2p.
What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?
passion and energy

Things are great. Keeping busy (or finally getting busy again). The blend was really nice, and was great in a cappuccino.

Jeremy! It was good to see you guys up here today. I forgot to tell you guys, but let everyone at the shop know that I said Hello. I haven't spoken to anyone in quite some time... anyhow, come back and sleep on my porch any time.

Things are coming along slowly. We do have our four group gb5 up and running in a backroom and we moved out of the garage about two weeks ago. So we are building out the cafe right now but it will be a few months out before we are completed. How's Backporch? Say hello to all the kids at Backporch .
