Profile Information

What is your position in the coffee industry?
coffee roaster, coffee enthusiast
Where are you located? ( City and Country )
Portland, Oregon
How many years have you been in the industry?
8
About Me:
Coffee roaster for Montana Coffee Traders in Whitefish, MT. Experienced with Sivetz fluid bed roasters. I've also been home roasting since leaving MCT so I've used Popperys and a Behmor.
About My Company:
I love coffee. I love everything about coffee. I love to roast and blend and drink coffee. And I believe that home roasting coffee is the only way to assure yourself of the very best qualities that coffee has to offer. To cater to the home roaster I started Lovejoy Coffee Company. I wanted to be able to provide green coffee beans from around the world to home roasters in Portland, Oregon. I got tired of spending so much for shipping on my orders to suppliers and I figured others here would feel the same way. My goal is to make the best coffee beans available to people who home roast as well as to inspire others who might not have even considered the possibility to give it a try.
What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?
I love the scope of it. From the hot cup in my hands all the way back to the farmer who grew or picked it.

Chris, yes, many hats. Now just one for the time being. Coffee shop owner/coffee roaster/ sales/ oops. I see what you mean by many hats. It's what you end up doing when your trying to survive in a depressed economy. Green bean suppliers, yes, we have two. One is in Vancouver, Washington. I will get you this information asap. I need to get this information from my partner. They supply us with our Organic / Fair Trade coffee's. We have a broker in PDX named Bruno who supplies us with Brazils and last minute problems finding a bag of something we ran out of.

Coffee Fest seemed to be pretty well attended, I'm hoping the trade shows this year are busier. I hope all is going well with the roasting side.
