Customers have done nice things for us. But what compliments have they given you or what's the nicest thing customers have said to you?

Mine were:
"Thank you for being so patient"

"You just made my day better"

I know these aren't exceptional, but it's still nice to get that verbal 'pat on the back'.

"Your smile and this coffee are the best start to my day" :-)
"This coffee shop is really damn clean whenever you're here."
"You make the best Mochas. You specifically."
"Thank you so much for suggesting a cortado. I knew I could trust you to know what I would like. It was divine!"

I had a neighbor of mine from when I was a kid tell me this once. He came up to me at the handoff bar and asked if we had changed our recipe. I told him no, and he chuckled to himself and went, "Oh. You weren't here that day. Caroline only likes it when you make it."

It feels so great when people notice the effort you put into a drink, right?
"you've just changed my life!" customer was making amricanos at home pulling shots than adding hot water.

I made him two americanos one with shots on bottom, other with shots on top. Shots on top win again...count it
"That was a great espresso. Can I have another one?"
It's great when customers try something new from our suggestions.

I was at the TED Conference at the Long Beach Convention Center, California. A group of attendees (ticket price was around ten thousand for a three day event), approached me on the final day and stated that they voted me the best barista at the show. It was a great feeling.

Just being around that crowd of stars gave me the energy and passion to become a better latte artist.
Oh how exciting! What did you pour for them?

"you could sell me my own shoes"
Anytime a customer takes note of the extra work put into a drink its purely awesome.  Most of our customers are grab-n-go morning people, so its great when someone stops and drops a compliment.
