Coffee always tastes better when on vacation.

Darker today. Cuban. Peaberries. Delicious and rich and chocolatey. Way, way darker than I'm accustomed but man, I gotta admit, it's like candy. French pressed.

Later, I inadvertantly mixed a half cup into my french pressed 16oz PNG and it tasted pretty fine. I'll try it again tomorrow and pay attention to the descriptors...Never thought I'd be blending in the cafe!
Brazil Poco Fundo- Barefoot Coffee Roasters- Thanks Andy! What an amazing experience every time. Love the customer response after they ask for the French roast and asking them to try this lightly roasted Natural Sundried...I love the "ahaa" and then the "Hey this isn't bitter"...Ding Ding, we have a winner.

Compelx coffee with medium body and spicy acidity.
Daterra Reserve Espresso... Not quite fully rested yet.

Should be better in a couple of days.
Colombia Bucaramanga Especial from Innkeeper's Fresh Roasted Coffee in Galesburg, IL

Really quite good. Baked apples and apricots with a tinge of a pummelo or really ripe grapefruit as it cools. A spicy, almost clove-y finish. Very nice. I'll post up some pics of a cupping and tasting event I did with their coffee over the weekend.

I love finding hidden gems in little towns when you're not expecting much. If you happen to find yourself in Galesburg, stop in. Skip the espresso bar and order up a press.
These coffees were great, Aaron. Developing a national industry in Rwanda from the ground up will yield some interesting results down the road, assuming the peace holds in the region.
Smaller scale, high quality export-producing farming can act as a real stabilizer for a nascent economy.
And again, the coffees are phenomenal!

Esmeralda roasted by Discovery in Victoria. French press. Very nice.....It's a little more than 2 weeks after roasting but it hasn't lost much - if anything. When does this stuff peak?!?
