Hey everybody, we have the dial on a customers Swift adjusted all the way fine and the burrs are new. In the past I remember there being an option to change the dosage timer inside. Anybody have detailed instructions on that?

Sarah, are you implying you would like a slower shot time, or more coffee per dose? We use swifts, and I'm sure I can get an answer out of my service tech.
More coffee per dose travis, thank you.

basically the swift has a spinning impeller at the bottom where you put the pf in, this just evenly distributes the coffee, packs and polishes it, the spinning forces the coffee down but when enough coffee is in the pf it forces the shaft upwards tripping a micro switch. thereby deactivating the grinder but continues to pack, polish.

basically you have two choices one of with im not sure how to do with out it in from of me but you maybe able to adjust when it trips the micro switch, or you could just use bigger baskets probably easier.the tower in the fron of the swift can come off during operation has 2 screws on each side you can run the grinder and see how it lifts at the end of the grind cycle, or turn it off and pull to tower off you can push up on the impeller and see the micro switch being tripped by a disc that spins around. if you dont understand let me know i can take pics we have a few scrap swifts at my shop. but i might take awhile.
I agree with Bill you can use a bigger basket. Two sizes are available for the swift I believe they are 19mm and 22mm, if you have the 19mm you can get a 22mm and your problem is solved. One word of caution: make sure you only use ridge-less baskets for the swift, baskets that taper or have ridges can cause the impeller shaft to bend which is very hard to fix.

The other thing you can do is to adjust the hight where the impeller trips the micro switch, but this is really only used to ensure the coffee bed hight is not too low in the basket or to high where it is impacting the dispersion screen. If it is the case that the coffee bed is too low you can use the adjustment. If you'd like I can get you detailed instructions on how to adjust the coffee bed hight.
hope this helps if you can read my touch pad writing

this is off the main subject, but still pertains to swift grinders. Do you need to wipe the pf clean before inserting? I've always rinsed it and never even wiped it out. I rarely use it, but I was just curious.
You should always wipe the pf clean and dry before any grounds are delivered.
