Where do I find rolls of paper??

- I own a small shop in Blowing Rock NC. I am a coffee GEEK and I love getting the chance to educate my customers on our coffees. The Bald Guy Brew is the name of my shop. My partner: The Bald Guy....has a shop in Boone NC right donw the road from me. We roast all of our own coffees and we specialize in fair trade and organic coffee. The Bald Guy goes to coffee countries around the world meeting coffee farmers and finding speciallty coffees through co-ops.
As far as barista skills are concerned, I have been spinning drinks on and off for about 8 years and if I can make a living at it....well that would be just fine with me and my family.

- I love Italy. I would love to go back some day. I would like to travel to many places, BUT I opened my coffee shop in the spring of 2010.... so for now, I am just fine with hangin out here and spinning drinks on my beautiful 3 group Astoria who we call Roxanne....

Hi, Jason! Here's some of the basic info I'd consider for a latte art throwdown:
-make sure you have an emcee that is comfortable hosting and can keep things on schedule. The emcee should inform people when sign ups begin and five minutes prior to sign up ending. Emcee should explain the competition and rules, as well as introduce the judges. Announce the two competitors who are up, and the two following to make sure that competitors stay close by.
-a 16 or 32 person single elimination bracket is going to be easiest. Run head to head from the bracket to advance to the next round, and so on.
-food and beer/wine is good if it's an over 21 event. Pizza is always easy.
-schedule a couple of your staff for general barback/maintenance/hospitality so that things can be handled during the throwdown (washing pitchers, dialing in espresso, etc.)
-Music!!
