There are many great espresso slingers around the Southeast U.S., and this group's in honor and celebration of them. Also, although not as famous, there are lots of great baristas showing the country that we got skills, too. We are also educating our area what good coffee is. Whether it's Java Jaay's Coffee in Decatur, AL, Octane Coffee in Atlanta, or Dilworth Coffee in Charlotte, the art and scene are being improved upon everyday!

Hey! I just happened on this site and I've been working like, the past 4 days straight non stop.. but I just wanted to tip off the person on tour... Tampa has a few great shops.. If you're going to be in on a Friday, I manage a cafe called Nola Cafe that has what's been online reviewed as the best friday night open mic (It's packed-- I haved worked every friday since we've started and since I moved to tampa in april so I can't tell you what other open mics look like, lol!) but my life revolves around my job-- and my job revolves around my service and my coffee and it's quality. Most places around here use a local roast of joffery's--great stuff, and if you want a real Tampa Bay treat come by Java and Cream in the morning or afternoon on Davis Island, especially if you've got a sweet tooth. But Nola is my heart and soul-- We use Batdorf and Bronson Dancing Goats for our espresso and Community Coffee for our signature cafe au lait with chicory and a dark roast for regular, along with a slew of shit I can list. And we use a cold brew..always a real smooth cup. We've got the best begniets out side of naw'lins too!

...I have no social life. Try indigo coffee as well-- I am a big fan of their extreme toddy and iced machiatto. If you google creative loafing and barista or best of tampa bay cafe they did a bunch of reviews in early 2008. Jofferys, if anyone lives around here, always has an open door policy to their place.

What about a flaming portafilter for the profile picture? Or someone juggling two Robur grinders? That would be awesome.
