Hey, guys, my name is Zech. I'm a pro barista with decent skills. I'm in the works planning a cross-country bicycle for charity journey.

The plan is to stop at as many coffee shops and roasters, etc, as possible in as many states as possible. I'm willing to train or be trained by staff, hang out, work for/with you, etc. I'm willing to do almost anything.

Donations to Coffee Kids Network will be greatly appreciated and any direction toward lodging or food also very necessary and good. Are there any baristas or shop owners who can point me toward a coffee business that might be interested in participating in this charitable event?

If you're traveling through Oklahoma, let me know. We'd love to talk coffee, pull shots, or just give you somewhere warm to hang out. When are you doing this?
you are welcome to crash at my apt in Portland OR if you need, coffee talk a plenty
Hey Zech, If you can arrange to come through Springfield, MO I would like to interview you on our coffee video blog http://thecoffeewire.com. I've got some coffee shop owners that I know here that I think would like to have you visit as well. What do you think?

Zech, APPLAUSE! Do you have a web site started for this? It's great that you are benefitting Coffee Kids. I'm happy to help promote your efforts and line up some thing for you in the greater Washington DC area. I hope you blog the heck out of this and have a great time. If you decide to head to Mexico & Guatemala I can make some arrangements and know others who can help you as well. When do you expect to begin your trek? Looking forward to greeting you in person!
Zech,
I am happy to have you stop in Indianapolis, cross roads to America!
Looking forward to reading a blog by you!
Good luck!

Hey Zech...stop in Easton, I'll put you up and put you to work!
That depends on you timing... we will open in March. I would love to be a part of it. While here maybe yo could give us some tips on being a bike friendly place and what type of bike rack to put outside.
Email me more info. I will start looking up more info about other shops on your route and see what we can do for lodging and other needs. If you go towards Winchester from Tullahoma you will not only find San Miguel's but a bike shop as well. It might be a great place to pick up parts or get your tires inspected or replaced. If you are heading the other way towards Columbia, TN there is the Buckhead Cafe. Towards Nashville there is a roaster Bongo Java. In Chattanooga there a a good number of shops and roasters... my favorite is Rembrandt's.
For sure give me a shout when you are in Portland. What city are you starting in? Sounds like a lot of fun and best of luck to you! Let us know if you have a site for the ride.
Hey Zech. When are you planning on riding cross country? I'm in Iowa and around august, they have a pretty big event here called ragbrai. Even Lance Armstrong has done this the past 2 years. I'm sure if i get the word out on what you're doing, i should be able to get a good crowd for a charitable event.
Thanks to everyone for their kind words and encouraging gestures. I will make plans to stop in everyone's town and check out their "venue." I can't wait to meet you guys. How do you think I should design the donation side of things?
