Competitor registration for the 2010 United States Barista Championship opens this Wednesday March 10th! Here is the official registration information for this year’s competition:

Registration for the 2010 USBC will be offered in stages. All regional champions will be offered a spot in the semi-final round. All regional finalists (Ranking 2-6) will be offered a spot in the preliminary round. Regional finalists must respond within 48 hours of a) the opening of USBC registration (Wednesday, March 10th @ 9AM PST) or b) 72 hours after the announcement of the regional final standings at their respective competition (Tuesday 3:00 pm following NERBC & GLRBC finals ceremony). After the 72-hour window has expired, any spot unclaimed by a regional finalist will be open to all other registrants.  

All other registrants can apply for a position on the wait list on a first-come, first-served basis starting on Wednesday March 10th @ 9AM PST. Registration is open to all on Wednesday March 10th @ 9 AM PST regardless of when your regional is held so sign up early! We will also hold 5 open positions for the South West Region until Friday March 12th. If your regional competition has not yet taken place and you would still like to compete at the 2010 USBC regardless of your final standings, we recommended applying for the wait list even before your regional event is held.

Competitors and judges will register at the same site. Please note that even if you are already regional finalist, you must register via the Standby Registration page first even though you will be guaranteed your spot as long as you register by Friday March 12th. You will be directed to a payment link for the $50.00 registration fee once we have confirmed you as a regional finalist.

Tuesday, April 13th-
9:00 am – 4:00 pm Day 1 of judges certification*

Wednesday, April 14th-
9:00 am – 5:30 pm Day 2 of judges certification in Room 304-A**
12:00 pm – 6:00 pm Competitors 1-12 Meeting and Practice Session

Thursday, April 15th-
7:30 am – 8:00 am Competitors Meeting
9:00 am – 5:00 pm USBC Competition Round 1, Day 1 & Practice Sessions

Friday, April 16th-
7:30 am – 8:00 am Competitors Meeting
9:00 am – 5:00 pm USBC Competition Round 1, Day 2 & Practice Sessions
5:30 pm – Announce Semi-Finalists

Saturday, April 17th-
7:00 am – 5:00 pm USBC Semi-Finals Round & Practice Sessions
5:30 pm – Announce Finalists

Sunday, April 18th-
8:00 am – 2:30 pm USBC Finals Round & Practice Sessions
3:00 pm – Announce 2010 USBC Champion

*Any judge who has not participated in two regional competitions this competition year must attend Days 1 & 2 of the judges workshop
