I have had a pid install kit from espresso parts fro the better part of two years now. I got it in anticipation of just installing it, well that never happened, however now the thermostat screw seems to not be able to set properly or to constantly regulate the temperature. so it comes time to pid. the instructions that came with the kit included a very clear wiring diagram that I have made sense of. the part that really has me stumped is this:

when I remove the old thermostat and thermo well it gets replaced by the stainless thermocouple bung.

How do I make the connection?

does the themocouple just pressure fit wrapped with teflon tape??(that sounds like what the manual was suggesting) it seems like I am really missing something obvious.

thanks in advance,
chris
