Name the top 3 songs you're playing in your cafe this week.

Is your iPod deadly over-played like mine?

Want NEW music.  Not just new shuffles and frickin genius mixes but actual NEW music.

Whaddya got?

Hook me up, babies!

I'm struggling with the same thing. Sadly, I'm so far out of touch that what I consider "new" is the stuff you were probably overplaying last year.

One thing you might check out is Radio Paradise. Its a human-DJ-mixed eclectic streaming radio station. Can be a bit sleepy at times, but they do some great stuff as well.

Looking forward to some of the other replies.
i'll go albums, we usually play an album at a time

black keys - brothers http://www.myspace.com/theblackkeys
bill evans - alone http://www.amazon.com/Bill-Evans-Alone/dp/B00000476D
sleigh bells - treats http://www.myspace.com/sleighbellsmusic

ALSO WRONG FORUM ARRGGGGHHH
i re-examined Thom Yorke's Eraser after seeing atom's for peace in April, that album is killer
This week I have been (over)playing:

Hot Chip- One Life Stand
The National- High Violet
CocoRosie- Grey Oceans

dude, get pandora in there put like bonobo or city of color and you will be set for weeks.
Pandora's not available in Canada.
FCC troubles means they must track their users by IP signatures. Used to be we could plug in a zip code from a nearby state and be okay - that was about 4 years ago!
City of Color = good
I second Jared's Black Keys,
Avett Brothers is awesome. Don't worry about which album, get all of them, seriously.
Pandora over your speakers is illegal...

"Pandora is for personal use only, that means you can't play Pandora for the patrons in your bar, coffee shop, etc."

Lays it out there pretty clearly to me. I have never gotten away with this at a cafe. For a while, yeah, but eventually ASCAP finds you and gets their money. And they have some nasty, nasty lawyers.

Check out this thread that we ran a while ago about the topic.

wow thanks for the heads up! i downloaded pandora one right off the bat did not think about that.
It may not be for everyone, but there is a bluegrass band called Iron Horse who have a number of bluegrass tribute albums - we played their two tributes to Modest Mouse almost continuously for a week or so, and the customers ate it up. They are available on Amazon, I believe.
LOVE THAT IRON HORSE!
Just about to dl.
Thanks
I love covers! That Iron Horse reminds me of a few things...
1) Cake's version of Ozzy's War Pigs
2) Dub-reggae version of Pink Floyd 'Dub Side of the Moon' and
3) Luther Wright and the Wrong's version of Pink Floyd's The Wall.
