In Fremont I cant think of anything that is really worth the effort but I have not been everywhere. If you go north a bit to Greenlake you could try Zoka. Its a larger company with a pretty local feel.

I'd highly recommend visiting nearby Capitol Hill to hit up the regulars: Vivace, Victrola, and Stumptown. Also, you might find it worth trying out the "Starbucks-inspired" 15th Ave. Coffee&Tea Co. (try to make it around 11am for public cupping). Seattle has great public transit, you should find it easy enough to get to Broadway Ave., and 15th Ave. is only a 10-15 min. walk east.
