When brewing for a party, I commonly use a full, to heaping, tablespoon for each cup of coffee to be brewed. I have yet to have bad things said about my brewing. (fear?) I have found elsewhere (Fantes.com) that that amount is correct and even 1.5 to two Tablespoons for medium to strong brew. They say a standard cup of coffee is 5 fluid oz. Cooked egg shells are optional but will remove rancid oils from the brew and clarify it.

1 cup =16 tablespoons so if my math is correct, 4 cups+ of coarsely ground roasted coffee will equal 64 cups of well brewed coffee.

I would like to see what others say.
This is worth reading.
