truth about instant coffee - what the 98% of Asians in Asia does not know about.

Since it is about "instant coffee matter", i put it in coffee review post. (even this is not quite the right section)

when i was in Acodihue cooperative this morning. I was taking photos left and right.
and I came across a shelf that had several little jars with labels on them. they say, strictly hard bean, prime, pacamara, italian, Francesa...then last one was NESCAFE.

NESCAFE????????

I took the jar and took some beans out. it was not coffee beans. too big, too dark, too round....etc
So I had to ask Felix what that was. felix was the man in charge. he said that it was just regular "frijoles" just normal bean. not coffee bean, but just bean, like pinto bean. i was keep asking about this, so he took his computer out and showed it what it was.

FABASEAE. i guess scientific terms for certain bean. ( i will look it up after this posting)
the bean was WHITE. but it was black black roasted in the jar.
so I asked him why it is on that shelf along with other sample coffees?

he smiled and said that IT IS BEING USED TO MIX WITH INSTANT COFFEE, TO WATER IT DOWN FOR MORE PROFIT, TO BUILD UP THE VOLUME...ETC and since few decades ago, they were asked to do this, use certain beans, certain darkness..etc by "some" company.

what?

I asked him which company, specifically?? (yes, i was playing very dumb)
he did not say, just smiled and walked away. (Hoa đá pha lê)

Okay. there you go. i did not make up this story (my partner will back me up!) and photos to prove it.
Honestly, I do not know what to say about all this...... just very SAD.....

That is truly disturbing! This is why I am very suspicious when it comes to big companies, tsk tsk tsk. Quality should never be compromised for profit.
