Profile Information

What is your position in the coffee industry?
coffee enthusiast
Where are you located? ( City and Country )
Bridgewater, Massachusetts USA
How many years have you been in the industry?
3 - as a teacher
If you are a barista or shop, are you interested in a barista exchange with another coffee shop/barista?
maybe
Tell us more about your coffee shop or barista skills.
I am mainly interested in the farmers and fair trade. I have taken students to coffeelands in Nicaragua. What I have to offer is the ability to talk to audiences -- of any kind -- about the connections between farmers and consumers, between the field and the cup.
What cities or countries are you interested in traveling to?
I would not be part of a regular barista exchange, but I would be happy to travel anywhere to talk about coffee (see my outreach page at http://webhost.bridgew.edu/jhayesboh/coffee/CoffeeOutreach.html) in exchange for travel expenses and a charitable donation to the Coffeeland Landmine Victims Trust.
About Me:
I am a geography professor with a strong interest in economic and environmental geography and the geography of Latin America. Coffee brings all of these interests together, and is an increasingly important part of my teaching, research, and community service.
About My Company:
I teach at Bridgewater State College, a medium-sized college south of Boston with a growing interest in coffee!
What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?
Connections to the farmers

Hey James,
I am new to Barista Exchange and just went through and clicked on a couple of people to see how the whole thing works. I am also super interested to talk to some people from all over the United States and the rest of the world about the differences in coffee from location to location. Anyway hope all is well!
