Profile Information

What is your position in the coffee industry?
barista, manager, coffee shop owner, barista trainer, entrepreneur
Where are you located? ( City and Country )
Richmond, Virginia, USA
How many years have you been in the industry?
8
If you are a barista or shop, are you interested in a barista exchange with another coffee shop/barista?
yes
Tell us more about your coffee shop or barista skills.
When I was 15 years old, I got my very first job at a little coffee shop on the Chesapeake Bay. I fell in love with the coffee shop atmosphere and continued to work at many different shops growing up. I was a supervisor at Starbucks for a couple years, then floated to different mom and pop shops for a while. Although I am so grateful for everything I learned working for someone else, I realized that I wanted something of my own. The universe has recently handed me an incredible opportunity to start my own coffee shop; my dream.
What cities or countries are you interested in traveling to?
I want to travel everywhere! Whether it's inside the USA, Europe, Asia, South America or Africa, there is always an opportunity to experience and learn something new.
About Me:
I am an entrepreneur, an artist, and a dreamer. Life is an adventure into an unknown world that can only be fulfilled if you are willing to take the risk.
About My Company:
Jeanette's Café and Curbside is based in Richmond, VA in the heart of an urban community called Jackson Ward. My boyfriend and I are both entrepreneurs and have been fortunate enough to begin this project together. We expect to open our doors in the first couple months of 2017. Our shop is 1,500 sqft. with lots of seating, a decent sized coffee bar, and a small kitchen for baking homemade pastries, doughnuts, and bagels. Our goal is to keep our menu and our reputation simple. What sets us apart is our curbside service. We are located right next to a highway exit that leads you to Richmond's business district. Essentially, a customer will be able to order and pay for their coffee ahead of time on their way to work, once they pull up to our shop, we will deliver the order to their car. Efficiency and speed are essential to making this work. I would absolutely love hearing any suggestions that y'all have to offer! (We do not have an official website yet, we will be opening one very soon!)
What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?
I enjoy being able to give a customer something special. Whether its a cup of coffee, killer pastry, or relaxing atmosphere, I want to give someone a special experience every time they walk into my store.
