If you are a barista or shop, are you interested in a barista exchange with another coffee shop/barista?
maybe
Tell us more about your coffee shop or barista skills.
We are a new nonprofit coffee shop employing adults with disabilities. For now, we are a "pop-up shop" crafting coffee and (our version of) lattes at farmer's markets, craft shows and other community events. Our next phase is a food truck/trailer, and the ultimate goal is to grow into a brick and mortar store.
What cities or countries are you interested in traveling to?
We are based in Kankakee County and will travel to surrounding counties of Will, Cook, and Iroquois. We have been invited to and are considering events in NW Indiana.
About Me:
I am a married mother of three (with one in high school)! We have four granddaughters. I am a special education teacher who works as an instructional coach in a school district. I love to knit or read in my spare time.
About My Company:
I am a special education teacher who felt (along with my business partner), that there were just not enough opportunities for adults with disabilities. We employee research-based training for adults utilizing visual supports. The barista business is new and exciting! We've been through several trainings in Chicago. We are very interested in making sure that our interns do the work, not the support staff! Sometimes we create our beverages with the thought of ease for our interns... but that's why we opened our doors (okay... it really is a tent and some tables!)!
What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?
The rich experiences with different coffees and varieties of ways to brew them!
