Isn't this just gorgeous? Well, I think it is. Steampunk Glory.
Anyway, I found the picture whilst google searching "Steampunk coffee machines". If anyone knows what Steampunk is then yay, for everyone else, it doesn't matter right now!
As far as I can gather the machine is made by Belle Epoque, but I've no idea what model it is. Has anyone come across them? What are they like to work with? Where would I get one from?

That looks like an Elektra Bella Epoca

Elektra Bella

Buying an Elektra for a cafe is like buying a classic Ferrari to commute in, they are nice to look at and when they are working they are brilliant but you have to figure for a 50% downtime.
ok,point taken. I'd still love a shny thing that looks ike a darlek though... :-)
You can look at the Victoria Arduino line from Nuova Distribution. The machines are solid and are made for commercial use. They also have the small home version similar to the one you posted.

ahhh yes Victoria the utmost sexiest of machines but i prefer function over fashion
id get a lever elektra instead of that elektra. if your into espresso and steam punk by some really expensive pressure guages on ebay from 1902 and contact a metal shop that works with all metals not just stainless buy a synesso or gut a Lm and start drawling or just get some pot head art student to draw for you take drawing to metal shop, open wallet, bend over, and there goes a loan against your house.

awesome!! Love the cartoon!
These things - the coffee machines, come in brass too, rather than just the chrome, and the original version I saw had plenty more arms and levers and things that hissed at you, so steampunk heaven in my opinion.
I am calling my cafe "Doctor Coffee's" (I'm actually doing my PhD about this industry, so I really will be Dr. Coffee soon!) - anyway, I thought these added to the kinda Mad Scientist image??
It's also super-easy to make steampunky looking knick-knacks to add onto the machine yourself if you wanna make it look like the only one of it's kind. This month's make magazine (makezine.com) has loads on steampunk and i'd also reccomend instructables.com

Cool,I will have a look. We've steampunked an xbox recently... I had designs on my motorbike too, but I am a little anxious about modding the coffee machine just in case something goes hideously wrong!!

I've had drinks from one in Laramie Wyoming...of all places...back before I didn't really know what questions to ask about it. I'd love to find out more about the guts of it. The style dates to the early 1900's, and it's bloody gorgeous.

I'm a bigger fan of the 1934 La Marzocco, with the bitchin' lion on top. I cry a little inside when I look at it.
Kees Van der Westen has made few steampunkish machines as well. Did I have the cash there would be one of those sitting on my kitchen.

(And hello to everyone, this is my first post here)
That was our shop, no doubt... Coal Creek Coffee Company in Laramie, WY. We distribute Elektra machines and have a three group Belle Epoque at our downtown location. In our roastery we do all of our training on a one group chrome Belle Epoque. Bottom line, great machines. They use heat exchangers and a single boiler, nothing too shmancy on the tech end (yet). It takes a while to retrain for workflow if you're used to working on a machine that's organized in a linear fashion, but it really is an intimate dance once you've adjusted. Not to mention it's a great aesthetic asset to our location (historic western downtown). Stop in again!
