Who are you and what do you roast on?
My name is Steve Kessler and I'm a roaster/customer service rep for Espressions Coffee Roastery in Phoenix, AZ. I roast on a 25kilo Probat.

I'm Pete, owner, webmaster and roastmaster for my own internet based coffee business Our Coffee Barn in Spring Valley, WI. (near Minneapolis, St. Paul MN)currently roasting on a Diedrich IR3, but I have just ordered a US Roaster Corp 12 kilo with drum speed control and touch screen profiling. Dan at US Roaster Corp is GREAT to work with, I got the drum speed control because I want to try roasting cocoa beans too. Has anyone here roasted cocoa in a coffee roaster? Dan says it will work just as good as the cocoa roasters he builds!
Hey all, Alun Evans. I am a Kiwi, based in Indonesia but looking at opening real soon in a new spot a few 1000km south of here. We too have a 25kg Probat...make that 2 for the Germans! However my new location will most likely start off on a 7kg Diedrich. I am a huge Probat fan...so I am a little apprehensive about the Diedrich but willing to give it a chance.

My name is Hugh, I'm an American roasting in Southern California with an American roaster - a Diedrich HR-1. Yes, a ONE POUND roaster - that works out to .44 kilos for you "big" roasters. My customers get coffee they can't get anywhere else. Why? Because it's roasted just for them, no one else. It's all at The Coffee Corral. A fact: Roasted a Colombian Excelso early Saturday morning, dropped it in the mail (USPS Priority) the same day to my customer in, get this ---- Florida, and had a cell phone call today, MONDAY, saying that she just got her coffee and had 'brewed' a batch and was amazed - like nothing she had ever had. True story. How it got there that fast is beyone me. That she was amazed with the flavor is typical.

I would love to roast on one of those little guys...Sounds like a lot of fun. I'm in the process of trying to get my hands on one of those. Not to own but just to simply roast on!
Good luck Shuanna on finding a Diedrich HR-1 to play with. Not sure how many they made but I'm glad to have one. Bought it lightly used from a roaster up your way. Diedrich has stopped manufacturing the HR-1.

Sometimes a couple of mini hamburgers taste better than the quarter-pounder.

Nice start up Steve. Jon here in New Brunswick on the east coast of Canada. Have an IR 3 Floor model which has a couple of years under its belt now. Working fine with regular cleaning and maintenance. Thinking of stepping up to a larger model soon. Will most definitely remain a Diedrich customer.

Also have an expresso bar with an Aurelia two group, Compak K10, and an Macap M7KR to accompany the Diedrich.

We are doing our part here in NB to supply fresh beans and great coffee.

Thanks for having me in the group

Jon
