OK who else is pissed at these freaking people from Great American Dessert Expo calling every 3 hours claiming that they're still affiliated with the CoffeeFest* and begging you to buy admission tickets??

They keep calling my cell phone @ that!

Not just that but after attending the Coffee Fest Atlanta (which was tons of fun by the way) I noticed all these companies were "cold calling" me and saying I gave them my number at their booth when I KNOW full well I didn't !!
It's pretty low and poor business practices. Something needs to be done about this.

* What they're really doing is dropping the CoffeeFest's name and saying "this is the great american dessert who showed with coffeefest last year" they say it in a vague way to make u think they're still affiliated.

Yea ! Thanks Matt, I wonder what the folks at CoffeeFest can do though? Cause those ppl are just BLATANTLY invading your privacy. I mean here, we post certain thing about ourselves publicly so we can't but too mad when someone pulls that info for their own gain. But I gave CoffeeFest my info ONLY at registration time. I let certain people scan my lil badge whom I wanted to contact me. But Im getting the whole Goof Troop calling me on my personal cell phone. I had one joker I had to get nasty with because he was rude and he just started asking me questions trying to get answers out of me instead of just selling to me . "Yea where y'all in Atlanta?" "What kinna cups y'all use?" Pardon me ? look ... you're calling me on my personal cell phone feel free to stop by and see for yourself. JERK! lol

Please let me know if any users are approaching you and soliciting their products. I am trying to keep that type of activity off the site, but I guess anyone can find your website and URL. I set it up so that no ones email is ever available so no worries. If they are a member, tell me who and I can talk to them. Thanks guys!

I just wish I had been cooler and been like dude, you shouldn't call yourself a BX'er if you make bread, though it was tasty, I can get it locally at less cost. Beware of Hanna Montana Banana Bread co. Er Um Hannah Banana Bread.

HA!!! That's exactly what has happened to us! I liked the breads and all, except, we make them in house for about 20% of the wholesale cost. I felt a bit betrayed too.

I got one bakery who found my shop, we talked, I got some samples, but my boss decided to pass. Though he called me 3-4 times to see if I liked the banana bread they sent. I did feel a little betrayed since this is for coffee ppl to get to know each other, not sell to each other.

Not me, but if I do, I will lay the smack-down. ;-)

Yeah, thank god they did not get our phone number, just an email address. I am definitely a little miffed at the junk, but, it's a little easier to filter out.

Has anyone else been getting cold calls based on barista exchange profiles? I got a call from someone who took my shop information off my profile. Grr.
