Point-of-sales System

Hey guys, 
We've recently took over ownership of a shop. Currently there is a Micros  POS, but in order to make it all official and all, Micros wants a ton of money. 
So, I'm trying to research getting other POS systems. 
We would like to make it Mac based, but haven't had any luck finding many options. 
What are you guys using? What would you recommend? 
Any experience with Sixth Sense POS Software?

Does this system allow for modifiers on the drinks and other items - for example, size, addons, etc?
