Hey everyone, since I'm still a relatively newbie barista but I'm interested in learning as much as I can, I've decided to volunteer at the Regional Barista championship in Seattle in a few weeks.

It may be irrational but I'm wondering about the dress code-- it's very open ended, and I've never been so as a volunteer I'm wondering exactly how professional I should plan on dressing?

I don't want to stand out as either too fancy or too sloppy.

Thanks for your help!

Hi Bethany. Congrats on agreeing to help out with a really great event.

If you haven't done so, I'd recommend doing a quick search and watching videos from past competitions. This will give you a sense of what's happening, the look and feel of the event, and even glimpses of various volunteers in action.

The times I helped out at our regional I usually wore nice workwear, though I'd never recommend taking fashion advice from me :).

I'd suggest nice casual.
