Sweet! While it's far from bad, the cafe I work at is still definitely not the best coffee in A2. I'm kind of the only person really geeked out on coffee... I can't really vouch for anyone else's shots or milk.
However, I do suggest hitting up Comet Coffee in A2 and the Ugly Mug in Ypsilanti, if you haven't been there before. Comet is definitely the best coffee in the area and the Mug the best espresso (especially if Zak is at bar).
Hey Trevor! Are we going to have any MadCap representation at the Throwdown on Sunday? You can pay at the door if you want. Also, we are changing the format a bit...tournament style. More pours, and more interaction since the crowd will serve as the judge. Hope to see you there!
Thanks for coming out for the throwdown! Sorry, I thought I had already posted something on your page, but it looks like I forgot. Our next one will be on April 26th. If you don't want to compete, you are always welcome to be a judge. We might change the format a bit, there will probably be more prizes, and I will probably not be competing in this one. :)
Hey Trevor! Thanks again for letting us come and play with our espresso on your bar, we really appreciate your willingness to do that. Hopefully we are on the road to better crema. :) Let me know if you have any revelations as you continue to play with our espresso. It was great to finally see your shop too! Thanks again!
I am returning to the mitten tonight. Here are some general times that will work for me this week: Wednesday evening, Friday afternoon/evening, Saturday any time before 5, and all day Sunday. Take your pick. :) It shouldn't take long, I just need somebody there to pull some shots with our spro and see if any of the weird things still happen. Plus it's a good excuse to finally come and check out your shop, so there might be a couple people accompanying me as well to see your place. :)
Yeah, that's fine. I'm going to be gone this upcoming weekend to Chicago and Wisconsin, but I'll be back on Tuesday, so after that will be great. The crema on our espresso is rather bubbly and the permanence is crap. We have tried numerous things ranging from trying the different equipment in our own shoppe to turning the water filter on and off to shutting down the soda water gun to see if CO2 was getting into the water to checking the different parts of our blend individually and combined in various ways and roasted at different levels to aging it longer, etc. etc. etc. We are pretty much considering ourselves the Bermuda Triangle with our espresso. So we thought it would be a good idea to get it out of our shoppe and see if it still acts up. :) Have fun in Portland!
Hey Trevor! Did you already compete? How did it go?
I have a favor to ask of you. We have been experiencing some problems with our espresso at JP's and we are trying to figure out what it might be. Would it be possible sometime in the next couple weeks to bring some of our espresso to your place and have you pull some shots with it on your equipment to see if you experience the same same issues? If so, when would be a good day/time?
Hope you're doing well!

Thank you!
Would about 5pm on Sunday work?
Let me know! Thanks!
