Yah, the tamp at work pretty much blows, or so I've been told. I want a nice one, with a thinner base and (surprise) a bright green handle. But two things:
1. I'm completely and devastatingly broke.
2. If I rolled into work with my own tamp I would look like a total asshole. Especially if it was accompanied by a set of smaller pitchers, which, even before Jeff stated so, I realized we desperately need.
Hey dude,
Gotta love the 'tat, baby! As far as guest barista-ing goes, you'd have to talk to the Big Kat about that, but if its around the time that we're opening the second location... then possible. I can hook you up with his email if you want.

Hmm. Exchange you say? We are getting a clover tomorrow, and an M3 as soon as its built, and the Diedrich June 30. So much happening here... Need.. more... Baristas!
Me you and Matt go to Canada, what do you say?.... It has to be on a Monday or Tuesday, so we can see the roasting and wreak havoc. You in?... Maybe one more barista...
For future reference- where should I send samples of my soon-to-be roasting commercially super double extra awesome (after much testing) espresso?
How are things in Seattle?
I'm afraid I can't do much in the way of an exchange.

As much as I would love to..
If you want to do a gig in Austin, talk to Caffé Medici. It's THE shop in Austin, and they have a new location opening in 2 days that gets over 100 pedestrians in front of it every 2 hours. It's insane.
hey alex.
yes indeed, i'll be heading my way to trabant in a few more days, and as long as the bus system doesn't fail me, i still plan to show up on time to my shift from 1-4 this coming sunday. are you gonna go to the throwdown at stickman too? i was wondering if we should bring a lb. of coffee from trabant over.
as to your offer to help me with anything else, perhaps when i arrive for my shift you can give me a few good ideas for where to go for dinner. i assume that there are some good eateries at the pike market, but maybe you'd say that it's too busy there. see you on sunday.

alex,
saturday would potentially work too if you feel that it would work out better than sunday. i will have just arrived in seattle after 16 hours of flying and 9 hours of jet lag so i wanted to give myself a sleep buffer of about 1 day, which is why i suggested sunday. but if saturday is much better, i can try to get my travel-weary self over to the pioneer location (probably around 1pm).
thanks again for the info about trabant, about the hostel, and some new connections with joe about the throwdown on june 1. i'm getting pretty jazzed about my visit.
let me know if you would rather we do saturday instead of sunday so that i can plan my scheduling around our time.

What makes you think that I don't like Kenyas? Or are you associating all Kenyas with key lime? If so, I challenge you to a knife fight. Don't be blasphemin'!

By the way, Sarah's mom really loved the coffee they bought her.
