Profile Information

What is your position in the coffee industry?
home barista, coffee enthusiast
Where are you located? ( City and Country )
Seattle, WA, USA
How many years have you been in the industry?
I cannot think of a time when I didn't enjoy coffee
Tell us more about your coffee shop or barista skills.
Amateur barista - mostly in the comfort of my own kitchen, but I do like to dabble on an espresso machine when given the opportunity. Ok, so I worked as a barista for three months one summer in Seattle - I didn't even mind that I had to get up at 4:30am on weekends to work I had so much fun!
What cities or countries are you interested in traveling to?
Countries: Canada and anywhere in Latin America
About Me:
I REALLY REALLY want to work in the industry some day even if it means starting from scratch and having to suck it up and make minimum wage. I also really would love the opportunity to find work where I can use my Spanish daily, as I am a Spanish Major and have traveled in Latin America and enjoy very much the people and culture. There is a need, it's just a matter of finding the right opportunity for me.
What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?
That there is so much to learn and know. The information available is endless...I am happy that it is becoming more and more important for people to be concerned about Direct Trade with coffee suppliers from around the world.

Wow, you sure have been doing your work! Sounds like you're part of the Vita family right out of the gates. I had the opportunity to take a tour of the Capital Hill location with a group I am a part of - the Seattle Coffee Group - one Thursday night and met Andrew Woodcock as well as Miles, who was on the roaster that night. If you ever hear of opportunities to get to travel to any Latin American regions to "talk coffee" or purchase directly from farmers, make sure I am stuffed in someone's suite case. I am a Spanish major and it would be a dream some day to get to use my Spanish to do the Farmer Direct Trade thing and form relationships with growers in a particular Hispanic region of the world.

As for me and Vancouver, well, my better half lives up there and it's about time one of us made a move. I'm the one with more a 'flexible' lifestyle, so guess that mean I go.

When do you start at Vita?

Hey, your plan sounds like a good one. What made you want to go to Vancouver? And yes, I can already tell how much im going to love Vita. I have been digging my feet in the culture of Vita and love everything they stand for and are working towards. I love Organic, Farm Direct, Bird Friendly. And the Passion for Coffee and its roots doesn't hurt either. ha ha..

Hey Welcome! How is it that you live in this wonderful city known as the Coffee Mecca of the world and you cannot find a job in the industry? ha ha.. Well I wish you the best of luck and I guarantee that if you start at the bottom and put your passion where you would like it. Your knowledge will find your way to where you want to be. It might take a little time and commitment. But I promise that it will work out in your favor.
