Hey follow roasters, I am looking at upgrading our roaster and would love to hear your thoughts. I have found a Petroncini 30kilo but don't know much about them?? All comments are welcome.

The other options in my mind are

Loring?
Probat?
Diedrich?

Also, if you are selling a roaster, 20-35kilo, please yell out.

From my experience

The Petroncini is like a work horse it'll pull roast consistently but you have no real finesse over your coffee.

+awsome machine
+even roast
+consistent
+built like a tank
-no flame or air control
-brain dead on/off roasting
-looks plain

I currently have a Probat which I love because it gives me all the control i wanted from a roaster and looks awesome.... but you can't walk away from it. so it really depends on what you are going for
Thanks for your feedback Jefferson, I appreciate your time.

Hi Andy,

Did you make your decision yet? I only ask because I work on coffee bean roasters, and while they are similar in design (the ones you mentioned) they are not equal. Each one of those has it's strengths and weakness. I am a field repair tech for one company, but I have worked on all these. I can even point you in the direction of a new one in this size group (300+ lb/hr) complete with afterburner, if you like.
