You'll need a either a large adjustable wrench or a bench vise to secure the spout, and persuade the portafiltro handle into the proper orientation.

If it just won't go where you want it because of excess chrome on the male threads - you could file them a bit.

Or you could fiddle with some teflon tape, and not have to tighten the spout to the hilt.

Like so:

You can add a chrome bushing to the threads, or insert a SS washer w/ poper dimensions into the female threaded side of the PF spout. A heavy application of teflon tape will work sometimes, but can be frusterating as it squishes down too easily. Good luck! - Matt
