My folks will be heading to NYC soon from Australia for a visit  and  mum is DESPERATE to know where to get a good coffee (she's had bad NYC experiences).

Where can one get good (preferably espresso based) coffee in NYC?

Thanks :)

NYC is a big place. I can rattle off a few good shops, but depending on where she'll be, that list might be completely out of her way. Enter Oliver Strand's extremely well curated list for coffee in NYC. Everything on the list is worth going to for some reason; usually the coffee, though if not he will point it out. And the guy knows what he's tasting. Hope it helps

They're staying upper west side, but will go all over.

Thanks!

Here's anther thread that has a nice map as well as other suggestions

Thank you!

Mum was starting to lose all hope for NYC coffee. She said that last time she was there she had to get a double shot starbucks latte.... and wasn't too happy with it.

Looks like we have a bit to choose from :)
