I know in NZ Business Brokers take on franche selling leads. They generally do take a generous fee ($6-$10k in ew Zealand depending on the business) and this coms from the seller, although the buyer would obviously be indirectly footing this fee as the seller would tack it onto asking price. The advantages i using a brokeris they often have a database of potential clients- people who have approached them before to buy- or if they are national the database of potentially interested customers would be sizeable. The minus is the fee could be the difference in making or not making a sale- and once you have signed up you have to stickwith them for a set time.

We brought the business in NZ through a broker and while there were soe things wich were annoying, the process generally went smoothly.

I would perhaps add that if you are a franchisee I would have thought the master franchise would be a bit moe helpful in generating a stram of potential suitors. I would have thought it woud be in their best inteests to see you exit the business a happy woman.
