I was once asked asked why we choose the name The Celtic Cup Coffee House. 'What does Celtic, and Scotland have to do with coffee?' the person asked. I explained the whole local history of our area and how it was those of Scottish and Irish ancestry who settle parts of our area.

So, I will ask a similar question... What does monkeys and their bare backsides have to do with coffee? What is the history behind tis logo and name?

The civet resembles a cross between a monkey and a cat. Since Monkey Butt has a better ring to it that Cat Butt...we went with Monkey Butt Coffee.

And how does a slender nocturnal carnivorous mammal with a barred and spotted coat and well-developed anal scent glands, native to Africa and Asia connect to your coffee house?
We created the brand to spoof the coffee that is produced by that same small mammal. And, because a large percentage of human males and even the occasional female never outgrow toilet humor, Beevis and Butthead or the Three Stooges. Oh, and to make money.

I guess I'm not one for toilet humor... I just just don't get it.
I find your photo cuter then the monkey logo.
I do understand the eye catching appeal and in my teen and college days I might have been drawn to it just because the name. I guess I'm just becoming an 'old fuddy-dud. Thanks for the info and the education about small nocturnal mammals, LOL.

Best of luck in all you do.
