Hi, I am from Sabah (Borneo).
Know you came to look for coffee plantation, but victor said is right, here only has some small robusta and liberica plantation.
Most of the people here like to drink the black robusta coffee.

Hi, I think you should visit Indonesia (jawa or sumatra) for coffee plantation or maybe Chiang Mai in Thailand.
As what i know in Malaysia there is only some small robusta or liebrica coffee plantation only.

Hope you enjoy your broneo trip :)

Regards,
Victor from Penang Malaysia

As I know Royal Brunei flies daily to Jakarta, at fairly reasonable prices. This would be one option to get as far as Jakarta- then fly on Garuda up to Padang. The other options would involve using Air Asia or Silk Air. Both would require transiting in KL or Singapore, but I think you could then fly directly into Padang. Booking accomodation in advance is not necessary, and would most likely prove more expensive...also I think you might be suprised at thw range of accomodation avaiable. I would suggest Padang, a trip up to Bukit Tinggi for a few days (which is great and has some excellent Dutch Hotels as well as coffe nearby), then down to Gunung Kerinci

Hey Mathijs, great to hear from you! Coffee is still grown in this area, which is now Gunung Kerinci (note the Dutch spelling you used of Korintji is almost pronounced the same). The area is half national Park now, half still producing coffee and other spices. Its a good drive from Padang (which is also a very interesting town) but worth a visit. What part of Borneo are yoiu going to be in? I am assuming Malaysian Sarawak where Mount Kinabalu is. For sure if you have time to hop over here... Java or Sumatra would be worth visiting to see for coffee
