thanks for adding me to your list, just got back from our Toronto Trip and I must say I had really great coffee and a few cups I could not finish. - Steve
Sorry I missed you when I stopped by last week. Yes, Jas did talk about the fresh bakery and sushi. Those are two of my "favorite food groups." And when you mix them with great coffee, how can you lose?!! I sorta' wish I were, at least, an "In-Law" with you guys! :-) I believe you've got a real winner future there.
Frank and Jas...... of all the new shop starts I've seen, your location, the corner, the district and especially the fact that the store will look diagonally into the intersection, makes it one of the best positioned retail spots I've seen yet. We finished our trip in Santa Barbara, and at Java Joe's, we got an almond croissont (sp?). It was fantastically buttery and moist...in short, delicious. Next time in SB, I'll endeavor to return for that same bakery item. It reminds me that many high grossing coffee-dessert shops are sometimes well known for their signature baking product or products. While it's swell to be known for excellent coffee... I'd be tickled pink to move multiple bakery-dessert items in the AM and throughout the day, along with being known for great coffee beverages. I guess what I'm saying is that you have the location, and we did talk briefly about bakery. I'll be interested in seeing what comprises the highest dollar income for the store. BTW, there are some vendors that are selling "in store" mini bakeries. You don't go full bore, but have a small oven with one or two "baked fresh" items......... cinnamon rolls, for instance. You may have considered that; just a thought.

How close are you to opening? I've got biz in Santa Clara next week and we'll be staying over at the SJHilton, just down the way from your corner......... It would be swell to have an "inaugural drink", but I get a feeling my timing is a bit off?
