Hi there!!! I was recently in Seattle and was doing my best to make the cafe circuit. I was on Capitol Hill at Victrola when I made my way to 15th Ave. Coffee and Tea. (SBUX) Once I arrived I jumped in to a cupping (which was terribly done) and had a Sidamo & Kenya by Zoka next to Stumptown and Starbucks.
They fucked up a lot of things on the table, just wanted to let you know. (Perhaps swing by sometime and let them know that you don't want Zoka coffees cupped improperly? IDK!
Good luck in Seattle. It still remains the Mecca of the coffee world, but the
world is catching up 8-) You should have very little difficult finding good
opportunities here.
Send me your resume' to robbie(the at sign)zokacoffee.com. Make sure it has references. I'll give it to the person in charge of hiring. No guarantees. It's worth a shot though!
I work primarily at the Downtown store, which is open 6:30-6 m-f. We do private tastings several times a week, and usually at least one or two unoffical cuppings each week. I'm in Kona right now doing some farm touring, but I'll be back next monday.
Darryl pretty much summed it up...mabye also check out Herkimer. They have a couple diffrent stores and a wonderful staff. Good luck in Seattle! Drop me a line sometime and we'll get coffee.
we are in good shape with our raoster staff--but it would be nice to get yours and his inf/resume. you can email to me at darryl@fidalgobaycoffee.com.
