hi Chan, how r u?
juz want to ask u... do u know how many independent coffee houses are around the Klang Valley?
im planning to make a visit during the end of the month.
It's depend, for example if we need the beans to roast till level 9, then we will add sugar when the beans in level 7-8.
We grade our roasting by number, 12 is darkest roast.
We put margerine on tools so that the sugar would not stick with the tools but not for the taste of coffee.
To roast Kopi-O, you need to mix the roasted coffee bean with sugar in a 'wok' and roast for further 10-20 mins. Differrent coffee factories have their own ratio for coffee and sugar.
The purposes of mixing sugar with coffee are to reduce cost, make the coffee drink look "O" (black) and the taste of caramel.
no real 'coffee house' in sabah, but only all the franchise cafe like starbuck, coffee bean etc.
cap kuda is one of the oldest and biggest coffee factory in sabah.
I work in a coffee factory that produce black coffee and pre-mix coffee
im very sad aswell that im not able to serve u a cup.
definitely in the future ill get a chance.
anyway have u tried the coffees at ZEN Gardens by Secret Recipe?
they use nuovo simonelli over there.
also maybe u would love to try espresso's at GSC Signature.
the baristas over there are very well trained and they do some wicked latte art over there.
currently im not working anywhere, i quit CBTL a month back.
concentrating more on college and my coffee knowledge.
do let me know bout ur gatherings, would love to join. btw, do u work as a barista?
Hi KF! our Obama Blend is quite new age- Eastern Indonesian origins mainly. Fruity, funky... a change coffee for sure! The McCain Blend is (was as its not selling now!) more robust, solid, steady but (perhaps) not spectacular! We here feel quite an affinity for B.O as he spent much of his childhood growing up in Jakarta
well ofcourse.
good idea, would love to meet all coffee lovers.
its sad that there's not many coffee lovers in malaysia.
im from punchong, selangor.
where r u from?
