I recently suffered a heart attack at age 47. I had one stent placed and am going to have a follow up procedure this coming Monday to clear the remaining blockages and another three stents will be placed in the cleared arteries.

I am wondering if anyone else on BX has gone through these or similar experiences.

Hi Jonathan, I had an MI at 37 and had three stents placed in my LAD. Take you meds and keep up your exercise and you will do fine. It is certainly not a death sentence as I had thought right after it happened. After 10 yrs and very few issues, my ratios are great and I am feeling fine. Is scary, but don't let it dictate what you want to do in life out of fear. Live your life and have fun! Best to you my man.......Rob

Jonathan - I hope you are doing well now, hang in there. I will be 47 this year. My father had quintuple bypass open heart surgery at 50 and has been in perfect health since... he's now 77 and not had any heart problems since! I'm just hoping that I don't follow in his footsteps! Take care man.
