I got a BBQ Drum Roaster installed this weekend and I have to say it will take a little getting used to to get the roastes to come out right. I also tasted some Kenya AA for a company, they had an Iced coffee recipe that came out great. Now I know what my next endeavor will be, a cold brew coffee maker. Toddy makes one that sounds easy.

I had the same issue when I first got mine. It was due to the slow rotation of the motor that came with the rotisserie kit. Since I installed my 25 RPM motor, my roasts have been as consistent as the beans allow. I've roasted over 100 lbs per month for over two years with mine. My customers and I are extremely happy with the results. If or when I have to upgrade due to capacity, I'm going to miss this little roaster. I imagine the grill itself would make a big difference. Mine is a Ducane.

I am still learning. It doesn't seem to roast consitently some beans are darker than others. I have not been roasting with the BBQ this winter I have been using my fresh roast plus 8

How are you guys going with your BBQ roasters? Would you recommend them?

Cool. I got mine there too... the 5 lb. stainless steel version. It's holding up pretty well. The thing that made the biggest difference for me was upgrading to a 25 rpm motor from the 6 rpm motor the rotisserie came with.

I got it off of ebay, I couldn't afford a RK drum. I think the place is called coffee roasters club. I got the one for one pound. I'll take any tips you have.

Hi Jim. I've been roasting in a grill for over a year. Where did you get your drum?
