Burlap.....what is it good for?

I love coffee sacks. Don't get me wrong. I love the colourful designs and beautiful pictures of a colombian microlot. I love the soft texture, the basic identifying markings and the corded closing stitch of an co-op Ethiopian. But today there was no sweeter packaging than what my new Kenyan coffee came in. Is that a Mirage?

I am buying 2 Mirages for my cafe! I am going to give heat exchange a second look. I used to have a Faema and liked it well enough at the time (1995). A lot has changed. I like the Marzocco group and my Synesso is great, so I am a little nervous about the switch. I will keep my Synesso for a while to make sure that the Mirage is going to work for me. Well it is April now and a few new things going on at 2% Jazz. Sean is doing a great job out at the Roastery, making the best of winter green choices. We are looking forward to the spring shipments. The new coffee coming in promises to be some of the best that I have been able to secure. Through John Sanders, I am able to buy some relationship coffee from Dwayne! Anfim after the first year

Let me begin by saying that I like the way my two Anfims grind coffee. I also like the way that they distribute into the pf. I like the timers and they are shiny! BUT....

What is up with the huge gap between the burrs and the doser? I feel a little duped but all the hype of "no waste no finger striking". I like to finger strike and I do not like a quarter shot being left behind in the shoot every time I pull a shot. I think that too many people wanted to believe that this was the grinder… Continue
