Soltazza was founded in 1992 as Thira Export Ltd. by Nik Renieris as an import/export-focused operation. A true entrepreneur with a background in foodservice, Nik focused Thira’s efforts on importing food and beverage products.

While reviewing one of his restaurant’s operations in 2002, Nik observed that despite having invested in a high-end (i.e., expensive) espresso machine, his establishment had failed to sell many espressos or cappuccinos. Nik realized that his staff found the process of making the espresso (and espresso-based drinks) so cumbersome that they would tell customers that the machine was broken! To improve the situation, Nik began researching the single serve (systems that brew one cup at a time) market, but was disappointed by the fact that most single serve machines required the use of proprietary espresso and coffee products. The one open standard that did exist and that was adopted fairly widely was the 45mm pod.

Determined to build a pioneering system, Nik spent the next two years performing extensive research with top manufacturers of brewing devices, coffee industry experts, and pod manufacturers (including the inventor of the pod). This all resulted in the development of a system capable of brewing not only espresso, but also coffee and tea out of a universal pod, based on the open E.S.E. (Easy Serving Espresso) 45mm standard. Three short years later, Soltazza was born.
What cities or countries are you interested in traveling to?

About Me:
I'm Juan Pablo Serrano, a young business man
About My Company:
Soltazza is proud to offer a pod-based, single serve system capable of brewing espresso, coffee, and tea. Our goal is to provide our customers with the widest variety of beverages from around the world, at a fair price, one cup at a time. By promoting an open standard, we eliminate the barriers to entry for most coffee and tea producers. Other systems rely on proprietary capsules that limit your options.

There are three main factors that differentiate our systems from other single serve options in the market:

We utilize an open standard – the E.S.E. (Easy Serve Espresso) 45mm pod. This is the standard format within the espresso industry and we are proud to extend the line to create great coffees and teas. We encourage our customers to buy our pods (we distribute a wide selection of these as well); however, they are not “locked” into doing so.

We have the capability to customize our brewing devices for any application – food service, hospitality, or retail. We can also customize our coffee/espresso, to create a blend that is exclusive to your needs.

Our system brews coffee the “right” way. Coffee used to be consumed only as a means of staying awake, but we want to change the way most people think. We believe the only way to do this is to brew in a system that allows the true nectar of the bean to be extracted into a flavorful coffee that has crema – allowing you to enjoy it like a fine wine.
