I have never had a blog, but right now writing a blog entry on barista exchange is the only option. Why? Because I am in the midst of a coffee crisis. Well, not in midst, I guess, because I am currently enjoying a tasty cup of Papua New Guinea Kunjun that I picked up from Trabant earlier today. But I am definitely on the brink of a crisis here, because soon it will be gone.

my name is ned, a barista here in europe and i will be flying out from the netherlands to take my very first coffee tour of the NW, including seattle, vancouver, and portland. i will be arriving in seattle on friday, may 30th and would be needing a place to sleep for a few nights. i also plan on being in vancouver friday, june 6th and heading back to seattle on sunday, june 8th.
would you know anyone who would be interested in putting me up for a few nights? i wouldn't mind working a couple of hours at a shop, if need be, as it will give me a better feel for how various specialty coffee shops are trying to bring the world of specialty coffee to the american and canadian culture. i have spoken with Alex from Trabant who said i might get to have a guest barista shift. but i am still searching for a place to crash, apart from the option of going to a hostel.
