Tell us more about your coffee shop or barista skills.
New coffee shop, near universities, made it to Chicago's top ten by yelp.com. Forced to close for lack of funding during second summer. Ambiance, coffee quality, trained baristas, and menu items made it win statements like "This coffee shop has heart!" We're in California's Central Coast now, working in local coffee shops to bring up barista standards, and bring a more mellow atmosphere. Looking for an opportunity to help someone open a shop near a college here or in Chicago.

About Me:
When I was opening the shop my daughter said, "Anything that a coffee shop could have, my mom's will have. She's doing EVERYTHING." I love making "a place to meet" for college students first, then the whole community. Our shop was so warm and accepting we've had customers show up in pajamas and slippers! Our handle was "authenticity" because we believe that is what young people are looking for. My husband and I are back to the start again, but with so much experience in our pockets, yet still thirsty for more training!

You seriously remember me? Awww... That shows what kind of coffee shop Open Hearth was;) With Will and Jake and all the nice baristas! I still talk to those guys! i'm back in Iceland now, about to graduate as a nurse in the spring. Going back to Chicago to visit in march and it's going to be weird to have nothing were Open Hearth was and to have Starbucks where that Tom Yum place on Fosters was! Two of my favorite places GONE! But I'm good! How are you?! What are you upto now?
