This was a farm in rehab that was abandoned during the Aceh war, so yes not much shade but they did have small tree's growing that will give shade in a few years. This is something that they are very aware of and working to fix. Most of the area's that we visited did have pretty good shade.

Yes, this was near Takengon.

Hi Thomas, I find it very interesting that this coffee seems to NOT be shaded and geing plantation grown...very rare for most areas of Indonesia. Is this up Takengon way or to the Southwest of Medan- Toba (Lintong/Mandehling/Sidikalang)
