Wow, already we have an apartment available for use in a great part a town. This generous offer is from Rob at Fernwood Coffee. He is giving up is flat for the weekend for a couple or two friends who need the space to stay.
If you are thinking about coming but can't afford the accommodation, let me know at

Hi everyone this is a request for billets. If you are able to share your home with visitors during the competition please let us know. This is to lower the cost for out of towners and to help develop a closer knit coffee community. Please respond if you need billiting or if you are able to provide it.
You may respond on this form or contact me directly at

I love the idea of the grinder comp! and I'll do what I can on the volunteer side.
Extra-curricular stuff could include organized junkets to roasteries, cafes, and stuff that are both easily-found and off the beaten track...Maybe with a hired mini-bus?
Some of the nicest things about this part of the world are the scenery and the people so let's show the participants around as though they were our family - which they really have become for many of us...I love you, man. Yeah, I love you, man. No man, I really LOVE you, man.

I'm looking forward to getting involved on the volunteer side. I'm also in on the grinder comp. Sounds like fun. As far as extra curricular activities our roastery is fairly central and could accommodate alot of people.

thanks Geir. I was thinking that what ever grinders we get the right tools must be provided, but just the basics. ie; adjustable wrench and multi driver. If there is anything special about it that must be provided. Thanks Geir you are the equipment king.

I'm in on the volunteers part and the grinder comp. I will supply a grinder or two. I will name the grinder brand closer to the comp as that will make the field more even??

Anyone interested in a grinder competition?
You must take apart a grinder so that the burrs are on the counter then put it back together and pull the best shot you can with an undisclosed coffee. This will be judged on time, cleanliness and quality of shot. Any suggestions on how to run a fun competition like this one? Anyone interested in throwing their hats in or a grinder maybe (Geir)?
