Hi Dav

It sounds like a good deal, but I would get more information also about the machines' first owners, why did they sell them? And although a La Marzocco is like a Ferrari of coffee machines, I doesn't make you sell more coffee cups from the customers' point of view, so if you can get a good quality brand new one for the same price, I'd go for it.

Dav, I reckon Flavia is right. It does not take too much to turn a good machine bad- and 3 years of poor or surface only servicing could be a recipe for a number of problems. A Ferrari that has not had an oil change for three years is more likely to run like a Pinto or a Vega. Apart from the obvious problems such as calcification in the boilers and copper pipes- pump and electrical issues could also be there. Be careful- I for one would perhaps look at other options out there.

Dav, your local product,service provider should be able to check the machines out for you, just ask them. I know we would do it for one of our accts.

Thanks ladies and gents. I' ll wait for a reply from the seller and then arrange for a machine engineer to look at it before i make a bid. The vendor went a bit quite when I started asking for service history
