is there any difference about steaming of every concoction?

Steaming whole milk is different than steaming skim or half and half or even soy...all of the milks react different and sound different when they steam. The best milk for steaming a latte with texturized milk that is perfect for latte art would be whole milk or half and half...2% works too. Do you have a coffee shop or is this just for personal use?
