I have a Cuisinart EM 200 Espresso machine. If anybody out there knows what size tamp I need to buy ( other than the plastic one that came with it ) please let me know. In the mean time, go get yourself a shot of Presso and drink one for me.

Thanks in advance,

I'm reasonably sure you won't find an answer here, but you can certainly measure it and get pretty darn close. Just measure around the diameter in several places (whatever the narrow point that your new tamp is likely to encounter) and go a little under the smallest measurement you get. It really isn't necessary to get within a tenth of a mm - rounding down to the nearest millimeter is fine. Don't have a steel millimeter scale? Go to the hardware store and buy one. Given the cost of a new tamp, it's totally worth the couple of dollars to be able to measure accurately.

Given that just 2 of the tampers I use, both at home and at supply my coffeehouses, cost more than 1 of said "espresso machine" I wouldn't waste money on a quality tamper when it won't make a difference. Seriously. Fairly certain it has a presurized portafilter making tamping irrelevant.
